Several South African artists are now also offering their services to assist those in the medical field by supporting the Smile Foundation Tixsa’s initiative. This campaign was recently launched and involves the purchase of essential supplies / PPE for those in the medical industry – and anyone from businesses to individuals can contribute. Many medical workers are currently combating COVID-19 and unfortunately safety gear is becoming less.

Many Artists have already joined hands and we urge all agents to contact the team to sign their artists up in making a difference. Legendary singer-songwriter, Anton Goosen hosted an online show on Saturday, April 25, at 17:00 and a portion of the proceeds was donated to this campaign. The public can look forward to more big names in the pipeline.

While most South Africans can attempt to stay safe and healthy at their homes, thousands of medical workers are treating the infected. This is where Smile Foundation wants to make a change and take hands with the country to support each other. With the involvement of artists, their supporters can enjoy their shows while making a difference.

For the First time in SA, British Duo celebrates 25 years of Hits, with World Tour.

Remembering hits like High, from the Varsity years, many, many years ago, the sounds of Lighthouse Family, will always be those that trigger a certain detour, in any student’s road down the Memory Lane. And now, Big Concerts will bring these sounds to a South African stage, when the world tour of the Lighthouse Family, will come to Johannesburg and Cape Town, during March 2020.

The two concerts are presented by 702, KFM, Channel 24, which will contribute to another Big Concerts Experience, which will include era-defining songs from a Duo with ten million records sold and twenty-five years of music-making. Tunde Baiyewu and Paul Tucker formed Lighthouse Family at Newcastle University in the early 1990s. Ocean Drive, their first album, released in 1995, saw the duo going six times platinum while staying in the album charts for three years, selling 2.75 million copies.

In 1997 these two released their second album Postcards from Heaven, which produced three Top 10 singles, named Raincloud, High and Lost in Space, together with two Top 30 hits. The album also went six-times platinum, charting across Europe, the Far East, Australia and New Zealand, selling more than 4 million albums globally.

Lighthouse Family’s third album, 2001’s Whatever Gets You Through The Day, produced another Top Ten single, I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be.

Then, the two friends went their separate ways, but soon started to discuss coming together again, to produce their long-awaited fourth album, which started three years ago. Determined to make something that was classic Lighthouse Family, but also something that will sound like it could be made today. Blue Sky In Your Head, was the title of their Album number 4.

Blue Sky In Your Head sees them back on Polydor Records, their original label, reuniting with Colin Barlow and Keith Armstrong, their first manager.

The same team that was around them when they were at their FM Radio-dominating peak, is with them again, with this 4^th Album.

This is the first time that Lighthouse Family will perform in South Africa and fans can expect to hear all their hits!

Breakout Events is excited to announce the South African tour dates for legendary band a-ha. This will be the first time since 1994 that the band is visiting South Africa.

A-ha have always set themselves challenges. In 2018, their MTV Unplugged tour proved that their songs could be given new settings and remain as alive and as impactful as ever. Now, pushing even further, they are announcing that their a-ha play Hunting High And Low live tour will be different from anything they have previously undertaken.

Magne Furuholmen, Morten Harket and Pål Waaktaar-Savoy will be performing new and old, familiar and less-familiar songs, as well as the ten songs off their 1985 debut album Hunting High And Low in the running order of the original release.

Back in October 2010, a-ha had played the whole of Hunting High And Low just twice, first at Oslo’s Konserthus and then at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Now, from France to Poland and from Germany to South Africa, audiences will have the unique chance to experience a-ha revisiting their first album while staying faithful to its spirit.

The tour is timed to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the release of the original version of Take On Me, issued in the UK on 19 October 1984 to reputed sales of just 300 copies. The re-recorded Take On Me was released in Britain during April 1985 to little fanfare, and in America that May where it hit big after its striking promotional video was seen on TV. It was reissued in the UK that September and, finally, the British hit came. The Hunting High And Low album was on sale in America in June 1985, and in the UK in October 1985.

Even when Take On Me took off, no one knew the band would be become established as one of the world’s best and most-loved. There were no guarantees. But the pushing, the rethinking and the self-confidence ensured that a-ha would not have “one and only shot”.

Yet when A-ha had what they needed for their debut album, they knew these were ten perfect songs capturing who they were and, to a large degree, still are. Ten songs marrying yearning melodies and drama; marrying immediacy and intimacy.

When they play Hunting High And Low live now, it is about more than revisiting ten favourite songs. It is also about tapping into the sense of adventure which first brought a-ha to London: a recognition that they have never stood still.

Take On Me and Hunting High And Low remain as vital as when they were recorded and released. The live shows in South Africa will show why.

Cellist Yo-Yo Ma, will be making his long-awaited South African debut at Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, in Cape Town.  On Saturday, 8 February at 7pm, Mr Ma will perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s Six Suites for Unaccompanied Cello without interval; his visit to Cape Town is part of his global Bach Project, presented locally by Showtime Management.

In August 2018, Yo-Yo Ma began the Bach Project, a two-year journey to play Johann Sebastian Bach’s six suites for solo cello thirty-six times on six continents. Since the project began, Yo-Yo has performed this extraordinary music in iconic and surprising locations including the Odeon of Herodes Atticus on the Acropolis in Athens, the ancient Huaca Pucllana in Lima, the Sydney Opera House, and Millennium Park in Chicago.

Alongside each concert, Mr Ma and his team partner with artists and culture makers, cultural and community organizations, and leaders from across sectors to design conversations, collaborations, and performances. Together with the concerts, these “days of action” invite us all to think differently about the role of culture in society, exploring and celebrating all the ways that culture makes us stronger as individuals, as communities, as a society and as a planet. In Cape Town, as it does all over the world, the Bach Project will explore how culture helps us to find truth, build trust, and act in service of one another.

His Repertoire will feature Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), Six Suites for Unaccompanied Cello, Bach’s six cello suites each unfold in six movements — 36 movements in all. Suite No. 1 in G major, BWV 1007; Suite No. 2 in D minor, BWV 1008; Suite No. 3 in C major, BWV 1009; Suite No. 4 in E flat major, BWV 1010 and Suite No. 5 in C minor, BWV 1011; Suite No. 6 in D major, BWV 1012.

Yo-Yo Ma has taken the Bach Project across the globe — and early next year, he brings the Project’s mix of performance, conversation, and cultural action to Cape Town.

Legendary comedian, Tracy Morgan, has announced his 2020 No Disrespect world tour which includes three back-to-back shows around South Africa – Cape Town on the 29^th May; Durban on the 30^th May and Pretoria on the 31^st May.

Tracy Morgan is best known for his appearances on Saturday Night Live and his role as Tracy Morgan in seven seasons of NBC’s Emmy- and Golden Globe award-winning, 30 Rock, opposite Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin.  His film credits include Paramount’s rom-com film, What Men Want with Taraji P. Henson and The Longest Yard opposite Adam Sandler and he has also lent his voice to hit animations Rio, Rio 2 and the Oscar-nominated, Boxtrolls.   Across his career, he has had stand-up specials on Netflix, HBO and Comedy Central and has headlined comedy tours and festivals around the world.

Morgan can currently be seen in the second season of TBS’ The Last OG, which has recently been renewed for a third season.  He can next be heard voicing the role of Fox in Netflix’s Green Eggs & Ham, as well as Caption Caveman in the upcoming 2020 feature, Scoob.

Big Concerts announced that it is the End of the Road… But not for them as South Africa’s leading promotor of International Artists on South African Stages, but as the World Tour remarking on by the controversial band, Kiss, bringing their show, Kiss: The End of the Road World Tour, to SA with one show only at the Ticketpro Dome, promising to be another Big Concerts Experience.

This concert, which will be presented with aid of Jacaranda FM and Channel 24, will be the last stop on this band’s tour, which includes 16 Cities, in 13 Countries, to be concluded here in Johannesburg in just over 7 Weeks, before their big Kiss Exit Finale in New York, on 21 July 2021….

After an epic and well documented 45-year career that launched an era of rock n roll legends, KISS launched their final ever tour in 2019. This year also saw sold out KISS shows across the globe, with arguably the greatest KISS production ever! The Italian heart throb, Patrizio Buanne is known for his unique voice and energetic performances, for one night only he will be bringing his charm and amazing talent to the Sun Arena at Time Square.

Having already captivated the hearts of thousands during his first few visits to the country fans are eagerly awaiting his return. Patrizio Buanne is an Austro-Italian baritone singer who is quickly rising to fame on a world-wide scale. His musical talent was recognised quite early and at the age of just eleven he started performing in public.

For more than ten years now, he has been performing to sold-out audiences in, Europe, Australia, South Africa, Russia and the USA. Many won’t easily forget his outstanding performances in Classics is Groot, July of 2016.

Patrizio is commonly known for his romantic songs, however just because he’s into romance, doesn’t mean he is corny or boring. In 2016 he released his fourth album, Viva La Dolce Vita in South Africa with hits from local singers like Steve Hofmeyr, Juanita du Plessis and Corlea Botha.

Buanne is not only a talented singer, at the age of twenty he went to Rome to study and he was able to learn six different languages.

In his own words “I want to make people happy with my music; there is a lot of positive energy in the lyrics. If I make my fans happy, I am happy. For fans it will be a thrill and for people who don’t listen to my music, the perfect opportunity to get to know it.”
