Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga on Netflix

Two small-town singers chase their pop star dreams at a global music competition, where high stakes, scheming rivals and onstage mishaps test their bond.

When aspiring musicians Lars and Sigrit are given the opportunity of a lifetime to represent their country at the world’s biggest song competition, they finally have a chance to prove that any dream worth having is a dream worth fighting for.

Comedy actor Will Ferrell will be playing the role of Lars, with Rachel McAdams as Sigrit. Pierce Brosnan will star as Erick Erickssong, Lars’ father and the most handsome man in Iceland.

Directed by David Dobking, and written by Ferrell and Andrew Steele for Netflix, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is a comedy set around the The Eurovision Song Contest, the longest running annual international TV song competition.

The 63rd edition of the competition had its finale in Lisbon last year, the winner was Israel with the song Toy, performed by Netta. The first contest was held in Switzerland in 1956 with seven West European nations participating. This year 43 countries competed for the prize. The show is now a global phenomenon with fans all over the world.

Former contestants ABBA, who won in 1974 for Sweden and Céline Dion, winning the title in 1988 for Switzerland, launched successful worldwide careers after their victory at The Eurovision Song Contest.
