Jarrad Ricketts: Break the Rules

Newcomer Jarrad Ricketts releases debut album Break the Rules

Jarrad Ricketts has had an overwhelming response following the release of his brand new single Thinking Bout, two weeks ago. Now fans will get to celebrate throughout the weekend with the release of Ricketts’ debut album Break The Rules, which is currently out across all digital platforms.

Last week Ricketts also surprised fans with the release of the music video for his previous hit single, Take Me To Your Heart. Jarrad Ricketts has garnered a vast fanbase with the release of hit singles Take Me To Your Heart and New Life, both which are included on Ricketts’ debut album Break The Rules.  The latest single Thinking Bout is already climbing the charts on radio stations across SA.
Ricketts is excited for fans to hear all the tracks on his debut album and explained what creating the album was like.

Break The Rules was recorded at Mr. Mallum Studios, with Ebrahim Mallum as the master behind the making of the album.  Mallum produced the album, did the programming and instrumentation on all of the tracks, and mixed and mastered the album.

Ricketts grew up on the Cape Flats in Athlone, and it was the arts that gave him a sense of direction that lead him to write and record his own music. Without any formal training in the arts, his persistence and drive steered him into pursuing his music career which opened up opportunities for him to perform in countries such as Spain, Finland and Sweden.

Most recently, Ricketts had the privilege of performing the British National Anthem God Save The Queen in front of 40 000 people at Newlands Rugby Stadium for the South Africa vs England rugby match. His performance was televised to over 150 countries internationally, an incredible moment for this young singer.
