Brought to South Africa by leading local promoter, Showtime Management in association with FNB, Disney On Ice celebrates Mickey and Friends opens at the Ticketpro Dome, Johannesburg, followed with their tour to Cape Town and Pretoria.

More exciting news, is that Moana and Inside Out are in Disney On Ice for the first time in South Africa and fans will also welcome Toy Story. back on our Ice.

Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy join Mickey Mouse in a high-energy performance that is a modern take on the film that started it all, Steamboat Willie. With some help from the audience, Mickey and pals venture through the various Disney worlds, sharing meaningful moments from treasured tales spanning generations to determine what their favorite memory of all time is.

As Mickey looks back on unforgettable Disney moments, families will be taken on a high-seas adventure with Moana for the first time in South Africa as she displays courage to save her island. The audience will also embark on a journey to the wintry world of Arendelle as royal sisters Anna and Elsa discover true love is the most powerful magic of all, and experience the mysterious magic of Fantasia as a Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

The Emotions – Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust– from Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out make their Disney On Ice debut as the hosts of the show relive classic and contemporary Disney stories in an emotional rollercoaster with Mickey and the gang. Fans will find themselves under the sea with their favourite, forgetful blue tang, as Dory embarks on a life-changing journey to find her family.

To tease you a little bit more, audiences will join the Disney Princesses as they use perseverance, determination and hard work to inspire Mickey and children around the world to celebrate their favourite Disney memories. As the show builds to the finale, fans will have the opportunity to vote and pick outfits for Mickey and Minnie to wear during the final celebration.

This spectacular ice show, which features more than 50 classic and contemporary Disney characters in a captivating compilation of favorite holidays and celebrations from around the globe, will arrive at The Dome, Johannesburg from Friday, 26 June 2015 to Sunday, 05 July 2015 and at GrandWest, Cape Town from 8^th to 12^th July 2015. 

Brought to South Africa by Showtime Management in association with DSTV, Disney On Ice presents Let’s Celebrate offers families savings of R40 per ticket at The Dome and a discount of R30 per ticket at GrandWest.  These discounts are valid for bookings of four, five and six tickets in specific priced ticket categories. This means a saving of R160 on a purchase of four tickets, a saving of R200 on five tickets and a saving of R240 on six tickets for performances at The Dome on the R250 and R350 price categories for midweek performances and on the R300 and R400 priced tickets on weekends. Family packages at GrandWest are available weekdays on the R200 and R300 price categories while weekend tickets are valid on the R250 and R350 categories across all shows so that families can enjoy savings of R120 on a purchase of four tickets, R150 on five tickets and R180 on six tickets.

Disney on Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic in a once-in-a-lifetime skating spectacular that brings together the legacy of Disney in the tradition of Disney on Ice quality that has entertained more that 135 million guests worldwide to date! With features from seven blockbuster all-time favourite movies;  The Lion King, Aladdin, Toy Story, The Incredibles, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan and Finding Nemo that have a worldwide box office total of over 2 billion dollars and are listed in the Top 100 Movies

Disney On Ice is not-to-be-missed family entertainment!

Disney fans of all ages will be singing along and clapping to many of the 24 memorable Disney tunes such as “When you wish upon a star” from Pinocchio; “A whole new world” from Aladdin; “Can you feel the love tonight?” and “Hakuna Matata” from The Lion King and “You’ve got a friend in me” from Toy Story.

With Mickey and Minnie leading the fun, audiences enjoy breathtaking production numbers choreographed by Emmy Award^®-winner Sarah Kawahara.  Kawahara previously worked with Michelle Kwan and choreographed the skating segment for the Opening Ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Complementing Kawahara’s fabulous skate sequences are the memorable tunes compiled by music directors Art Kempel and Stan Beard that bring the wonderful memories of Disney to life on ice. Scenic Designer David Potts and Lighting Designer LeRoy Bennett create the mood and settings that showcase extraordinary Disney moments.

Outfitting this cast of more than 60 characters was the challenge facing Costume Designer Scott Lane. His dazzling designs range from Mickey’s Marching Band, to the “It’s a Small World” dolls, to the stars of Mulan and Finding Nemo. The bright colors and minimal structure in the Nemo costumes allow the characters to move freely in order to mimic the natural movement in water.  Renowned designer Bob Mackie also lends his talents to a red sequined evening gown worn by Minnie.

Scenic Designer David Potts, who has worked on numerous Broadway productions, creates a theatrical atmosphere on ice. Skaters weave around and enliven the “It’s a Small World” sequence amidst sparkling floats that turn into a radiant light parade; a blanket of snow and an avalanche fall as Mulan battles the Huns; and a giant present is opened to reveal Buzz Lightyear as he’s first introduced to that favorite toy cowboy, Woody and his pal Jessie.
