Experience the Stars of Tomorrow on the Stage Today.

Building on the success of their sell-out concerts in 2015 and 2016 and celebrating their 4th year, Born To Perform Worldwide now brings Jozi audiences their dynamic new production Shine! Having seen the first Born To Perform Gala Concerts and recognizing the potential and vision of Gemma and Matthew Marinus, Maestro Extraordinaire Bryan Schimmel has joined forces with them as co-creator and director for this year’s show, and brings with him his signature ideas and expertise. Before we say more, see the EPK to get you excited:

After having seen the wealth of talent at the auditions, the team has been able to put together a dazzling array of diverse young talent, not only as performers on stage, but so too, as young choreographers and music arrangers to ensure Shine is going to be a show like no other.

Entertainment value will be high, featuring a spectrum of musical and choreographic styles that will take the audience on a journey from pop to hip-hop, from ballet to rock ‘n roll, from opera to a classic Latin American hit Despacito which will be performed in 12 different languages.

The audience will be treated to a number of surprises and heart-tugging moments as they continue their enjoyment of hits from musicals like Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton, to favourites from The Greatest Showman to Prince and others.

This year original numbers written by the performers will be added to the show. These songs showcase the young talent at its best, about current and relevant topics with strong positive messages to the youth.

Other highlights will include a Mozart Opera Aria set to an EDM (Electronic Dance Music) style and a Justin Timberlake song reworked in the style of Post Modern Jukebox.

Joining them on stage will be Idols winner Paxton; The Voice Winner Craig Lucas, The Voice Finalist Thembeka Mnguni and the hot new Latin sensation Miguel Pregueiro. Popular Born To Perform star, ZINAH will be the MC for the performances.

The Born To Perform Worldwide platform held nationwide auditions and has secured some of the most talented children and teens from around South Africa from all fields of music, dance and musical theatre, including four youngsters from Durban included in this year’s show.

The future vision of the platform is to extend opportunities to the talented youngsters participating, to provide bursaries and scholarships for the ongoing development of young talent in South Africa. Shine promises to be a thrilling display of song and dance provided by a wide array of budding talent alongside some leading stars currently heating up the airwaves.
