When Cirque Éloize iD made its South African debut at Montecasino’s Teatro in 2014, audiences were literally blown away by this bewildering high-energy production that blends breathtaking acrobatics and street dance.  Word spread quickly and “iD” became the hottest ticket in town. Directed by Jeannot Painchaud and brought to South Africa by leading local promoter, Showtime Management, Cirque Éloize’s iD has been enjoyed over the past seven years by more than 1 million spectators in nearly 950 performances in almost 100 cities across the globe in 23 countries.

A high-energy blend of circus arts and urban dance, iD is a production for the young at heart featuring an inspiring soundtrack and innovative video projections. Acrobats, aerialists, a trial biker, and hip hop and break dancers come together to create a microcosmic society where two groups celebrate everyone’s distinct identity.

There’s speed, power and a cacophony of sounds as everything comes together in the unprecedented spectacular trampoline-finale. In Cirque Éloize’s iD, acrobatic disciplines are combined with the energy of hip-hop and street dances, giving a fresh and high octane spin to modern circus.

Directed by Jeannot Painchaud, Cirque Éloize iD began touring in 2009. The set design, illustrations and video projections are created by Robert Massicotte in collaboration with Alexis Laurence. The music is composed by Jean-Phi Goncalves and Alex McMahon, while the lighting is by Nicolas Descoteaux. Krzysztof Soroczynski acted as show acrobatic designer and head-trainer. iD also includes an artistic contribution from Mourad Merzouki.

Big Concerts has confirmed that due to exceptional demand a fifth date has been added for Chris De Burgh in Johannesburg on Sunday 10^th April 2016 as part of his Hands of Man Tour.

Chris is certainly no stranger to our shores. Big Concerts’ CEO, Attie van Wyk commented, “This is the 6th time we have had the privilege to promote Chris de Burgh since 1993 and we are very pleased that after 23 years, the demand for tickets is overwhelming.”

While much has changed since his debut LP, certain things have retained their integrity, after album sales in excess of 50 million Chris de Burgh releases ‘The Hands of Man,’ his 20th studio album of original material. Recorded both at his home studio in Ireland and at Mark Knopfler’s British Grove facility in London, ‘The Hands of Man’ has once again been produced by Chris Porter and features contributions from the members of Chris’ touring band.

‘Spanish Train and Other Stories’ was Chris’ first major hit in SA and the first single ‘Just Another Poor Boy’ from this album was No.1 for many weeks.  By the time he released ‘Man On The Line’ in 1981, Chris was a well-established global star and the single from this album ‘High On Emotion’ became a No.1 record right across the globe. 1986 saw the release of  ‘Into The Light,’ Chris’ most successful record up to that point, which sold in excess of 10million copies worldwide.
