After hearing that Jacaranda FM launched their Good Morning Angels Project Flood Relief initiative, Menlyn Park moved quickly to be part of the response. Understanding how deeply these regions matter to its shoppers, the centre got on the phone and committed R250,000 in cash to support immediate relief and recovery efforts.

Centre Manager Nisha Kemraj said, “The devastation was overwhelming to see. These are places many of our shoppers know and love, and we felt a strong responsibility to step in and help in a way that could make a real difference.”

When Shoppers Step Forward

In addition to the cash donation, Menlyn Park opened three of its largest centre courts over the weekend to serve as convenient donation points for the Pretoria community, making it easy to donate without driving to the Jacaranda FM studio in Midrand. The response was heartfelt and immediate, with donations quickly filling the collection boxes. Shoppers arrived throughout the weekend with bags and boxes filled with essentials such as non-perishable food, bottled water, nappies and baby formula.

“All we did was open the doors and create the space,” Kemraj added. “Our shoppers did the rest. Their generosity was deeply moving.”

All donated items were delivered to Jacaranda FM in time for the station’s coordinated delivery to flood-affected areas, in collaboration with Gift of the Givers, who are assisting to ensure that the support reaches those who need it most.

Through this collective effort, Menlyn Park once again played its role as a trusted place where care, kindness and action come together.

TSHWANE, 5 December 2025: Pareto Limited, the proud owner of Menlyn Park Shopping Centre, with Divercity Property Group, South Africa’s leading investor in specialist rental housing precincts, today broke ground on the significant R850 million residential redevelopment of Menlyn Office Park. The project commencement follows a highly competitive request-for-proposals process in which Pareto selected Divercity as its residential development partner.

Located immediately adjacent to Menlyn Park Shopping Centre – the award-winning super regional shopping centre situated in the fast-developing Menlyn node in the City of Tshwane – the redevelopment will introduce 1,200 residential apartments into the heart of the popular and growing Menlyn node.

The project includes developing 460 new residential apartments through office-to-residential conversions of the existing three- and four-storey buildings, alongside 740 new apartments to be delivered across four newly constructed buildings, planned at heights of up to 10 storeys.

A World of LEGO to Explore

The exhibition will take place in the passageways in front of the LEGO Certified Store at Entrance 2, running from 9 AM to 5 PM on both days. A wide range of builds are expected this year, promising a colourful and imaginative experience for visitors and exhibitors alike. Shoppers can wander among awe-inspiring creations based on themes such as City, Castle, Trains, Formula 1, Star Wars, Harry Potter and more. Admission is free.

While the displays alone are a sight to behold, fans are also encouraged to browse the LEGO Certified store for the latest sets and collections. This store brings the full LEGO experience to South Africans, offering the same world-class products, events and activities found around the globe, with special items expected to be available this weekend.

Join the Fun: Build, Compete or Exhibit

A massive Star Wars Death Star will be built on site from Thursday, 23 October, and the public is invited to come build with the LEGO team in the centre area just outside the LEGO store from 11 AM to 4 PM on Thursday, 10 AM to 3 PM on Friday and on Saturday morning from 10 AM till completion.  Additionally, a team from the South African LEGO User Group (zaLUG) will host speed-build challenges in the area in front of the LEGO Certified Store on both Saturday and Sunday, where a play pit with loose bricks will be open to visitors to enjoy during display hours.

Brickfair 2025 also welcomes builders from across the country who want to showcase their own creations. Participants can register as part of a LEGO User Group or independently, to display models for public admiration. Exhibits can include original designs or favourite sets, and builders are invited to enter one of nine competition categories such as Best in Show, Rookie of the Year, Best Castle or Fantasy Display and Best Technic or Mechanical Model.

Stretching across both the ground and first floors of the mall, this three-day affair will feature over 100 exhibitors covering every aspect of the wedding journey. From florists and venues to décor specialists, bridal designers, tailors, makeup artists and legal experts, the full wedding planning spectrum will be represented. Selected Menlyn stores will also showcase on-trend offerings, with popular stores like Dis-Chem activating special touchpoints around the centre.

For those looking to immerse themselves in this world of tulle, tuxedos and table settings, Menlyn’s vibrant Wedding Trend Pods will be back for two weeks. Each pod will bring to life a different wedding theme, complete with dresses, suits, floral arrangements and decor details that make each one pop. They’re not just photogenic—they’re pure aisle-style inspiration.

Fashion, flair and fabulous giveaways

One of the weekend’s highlights will be the Menlyn Sky Fashion Experience. Across the two main days of the expo (Saturday and Sunday), visitors can enjoy a series of curated runway shows featuring looks for brides, grooms, bridesmaids, flower girls and mothers of the bride. A playful path through the mall

The Menlyn Easter Hunt will be hosted on the ground floor of the mall, where six large themed pods will serve as the key pit stops along the treasure trail. Each pod will be hosted by a friendly promoter dressed in a pastel suit and bunny ears, providing clues for the little treasure hunters.

Kids can start their adventure at any pod by collecting a card that shows the treasure hunt route. As they visit each pod, they’ll receive a sticker and a small surprise such as chocolate eggs, bunny ears, Easter ornaments or even perhaps a mini toy. The hunt ends at the centre’s Aviary Court, where participants can pose with a giant paper mâché bunny and their completed card.

Parents who prefer to stay behind the scenes can wear one of the bunny masks provided to add to the fun. By posting photos or videos and tagging Menlyn on social media, families will be entered into a draw to win a R10,000 Toy Kingdom Toy Dash. Additional entertainment will also be on offer in the Starbucks, Lego and Aviary Courts, where young visitors can enjoy Easter themed activities in a lively and secure environment.

Sharing the joy

Beyond the family fun, Menlyn will also be extending the spirit of the season through a heartfelt donation to the Leamogetswe Children’s Home. The centre will be donating numerous toys and entertainment items, along with a R10,000 Checkers gift card, to assist with groceries over the Easter period. In addition, the home has been invited to enjoy the Easter Hunt in person, with a special lunch planned for the children at Menlyn Sky.
