The project captures a moment where confidence, reflection, and experimentation meet. Across the body of work, Lucas balances honest storytelling with moments of playful creativity, staying grounded in the hip-hop foundation that has defined his career.

“The direction of this project came from where I am in life right now,” he explains.  “I wanted the music to feel honest, confident, and a little playful at the same time.”

At the center of the project is the idea of Y.O.G itself – a creative perspective that exists within Lucasraps. It represents the part of the artist that emerges when the noise quiets and the focus becomes clear.

“Before, I was still figuring out my identity as an artist,” he says. “With this project, I feel like I really understand my lane. The writing, the delivery, and the vision behind everything are much more focused.”

“Every collaboration brought a different energy to the songs,” he says. “It pushed me creatively and helped the music grow in ways it probably wouldn’t have if I made it alone.”

“That one feels the most personal,” he shares. “It represents a real moment in my life and exactly how I felt at that time.”
