M-Net channel 101 has announced that it is launching a brand new local wildlife series entitled The Wild Ones. The proudly South African series, which covers a variety of ecological topics, will debut on the channel on Sunday, 6 May at 15:00.

Produced by Homebrew Films, which has previously created numerous wildlife series for both local and international distributors, The Wild Ones comprises 13 episodes and will take viewers on a never-before-seen journey predominantly focused on wildlife stories from within South Africa’s beautiful borders.

“The content covered The Wild Ones is not simply of a wildlife documentary nature; this series tells exquisite stories that will move and uplift our viewers every week,” explains M-Net’s Director of Channels Jan du Plessis. “In partnering with the experienced team at Homebrew Films, we are bringing more top-quality, heart-warming local content to M-Net’s Sunday offering.”

The Wild Ones comes as M-Net continues to expand and broaden its local productions slate. It is the first local wildlife show acquired by M-Net in over a decade. The series will include some emotionally-charged and inspirational episodes set in a local rhino sanctuary before taking a deep dive into the magical and mysterious world of marine life. There will also be episodes dedicated to bigger beasts, friends that fly as well as other success stories from special wildlife initiatives across Africa.

The premiere episode on Sunday, 6 May is a once-off special focusing on all the exotic, weird and dangerous inhabitants of the islands surrounding El Nido in the Palawan province of the Philippines – the same location where M-Net filmed its 6^th season of Survivor SA earlier this year. Viewers can thus expect a tantalising glimpse into the types of creepy crawlies that the South African castaways would have been on high alert for during the show which premieres in the same week on Thursday, 3 May.

As Winter is Coming, and there is no Game of Thrones to look forward to this July, M-Net Movies is making sure that their Bang Bang Heroes Pop-UP Channel, will send John Snow heating all up…

Get ready for a selection of non-stop, pulsating, explosive, jaw-breaking, bone-crushing, no-holds-barred movies, built around legendary Hollywood action heroes.

Hot on the heels of the M-Net Movies Marvel Studios Pop-Up Channel, the high-octane M-Net Movies Bang Bang Heroes channel is yet another unique pop-up offering – a testosterone-fuelled TV experience that will be available to DStv Premium, Compact Plus and Compact customers.

The M-Net Movies Bang Bang Heroes pop-up channel will run for 24 days: from Friday 18 May until Sunday 10 June, and will screen a collection of over 90 movies featuring cinema’s most iconic pop-culture action legends. Larger-than-life blockbuster stars Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Bruce Willis and Chuck Norris will flex their pecs on channel 109.

While viewers will see eight incredible titles per day, each of these actors will have their very own time in the limelight one day during prime time. For example, on Friday 18 May Sylvester Stallone will strut his stuff in Get Carter, Cobra and Over The Top.  Saturday, 19 May then belongs to Jason Statham with The Transporter, The Mechanic Resurrection and Parker and on Sunday, 20 May, Jet Li moves into action with The One, Romeo Must Die, and Dragon Fight.

Be sure to tune in when Bruce Willis takes on the world in every single installment of the Die Hard franchise on Saturday 25 May. Then, don’t miss Dolph Lundgren’s fighting spirit on Saturday, 26 May in Masters Of The Universe, Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning and Skin Trade. Catch  all the action when Jean-Claude Van Damme, The Muscles of Brussels, shows off his brawn on Saturday, 2 June in Streetfighter, Shepherd, and The Sudden Death.

To round off this amazing experience the channel will play all three “Expendables” films on Sunday, 10 June beginning with The Expendables at 16:30, followed by The Expendables 2 at 18:15 ending with The Expendables 3 at 20:00.

Op 9 April 2018 het daar ’n splinternuwe Afrikaanse sitkom, Mense Mense, op kykNET begin wys. Hierdie Nouvanaand Films-produksie sluit nie net ’n sterbelaaide rolverdeling in nie, maar ook ’n pragtige temalied deur die gewilde sanger en liedjieskrywer, Len Muller, en almal praat daaroor!

Vrede is ’n opgewekte kontemporêre snit in Len se kenmerkende Afrikaans-Akoestiese styl en is geskryf in samewerking met Roan van As en Raldo Mattheus. Alhoewel daar ’n baie diep boodskap in die lirieke skuil, het die liedjie ’n ligte aanslag met ’n wysie wat in jou kop vassteek en jou uitnooi om saam te sing.

Mense Mense gaan oor ’n groep vriende wat hulle lewens deel deur saam te werk, kuier en woon in een gebou. Dit lê die wipplankrit van vriendskap, verhoudings en volwassenheid bloot, maar bowenal die onwrikbare liefde tussen vreemdelinge wat familie geword het. Bekende akteurs soos Sandra Prinsloo, Crystal-Donna Roberts, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Lea Vivier, Solomon Cupido en Reynard Slabbert is almal in die reeks te sien met Pierre van Pletzen agter die kamera en Nico Scheepers as regisseur.

Len se debuutalbum, Doodgewone Avontuur, wat in 2015 uitgereik is, het hom amptelik aan die musiekbedryf bekendgestel en heelwat treffers en benoemings (Ghoema- en Tempo-benoemings vir Manlike Kunstenaar van die Jaar en Nuweling van die Jaar) opgelewer. Sedertdien het hierdie blondekopsangsensasie ’n prominente plek in die harte van Suid-Afrikaanse musiekliefhebbers.
