Rocco de Villiers Returns to Pieter Toerien’s Montecasino Theatre

Following the success of the first Amazing Grace in April 2016 at Montecasino and December 2016 at Theatre on the Bay, popular pianist Rocco de Villiers is back with the sequel – Amazing Grace 2, a brand new repertoire.

This concert is a follow up, not only of his previous show, but also inspired by a brand new album Beautiful Beautiful Hymns 2. The first album reached gold status and left audiences wanting for more sacred music in Rocco style.

Amazing Grace 2 includes classic melodies from well-known hymns to American Spirituals, like Little Drummer Boy, Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, Amen, When the saints go marching in, Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, Down by the Riverside, Kumbaya, All things bright and beautiful, Hymne A L’amour, Gebed by Koos du Plessis, You’ll Never Walk Alone, Somerkersfees, Pie Jesu and Mary’s Boy child, just to mention a few. Of course, the evergreen Amazing Grace will be on the programme.

Rocco and his piano, or two, Lizelle le Roux on violin, Robert Mitchley on guitars and gospel singer Noxolo Hlatshwayo will perform these treasured tunes.
