Andre, the Hilarious Hypnotist returns to the Montecasino Theatre for more fun and Laughter
Andre the Hilarious Hypnotist returns to the Montecasino Theatre stage to enthral local fans with his fast wit, dry humour and astounding ability to turn even the most innocent of us into anything from a washing machine to superman, providing the ideal way to chase away the New Year blues.
His season at the Montecasino Theatre officially kicks off on Friday 22 January running for a limited season until Sunday 14th February.
There are also four preview performances taking place this weekend – Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th January – “to get the New Year going and to get into the swing of things ahead of next week’s opening”.
For the past 21 years Andre held his audience spellbound with his ability to get members of the public to do various strange weird and incredibly entertaining actions on stage. His previous shows at The Monte Casino have been sell-out successes.
Andre is renowned for presenting unforgettable, highly-interactive performances that leave his audiences flitting between fits of laughter and gasping in absolute amazement as ordinary volunteers drop deep into a hypnotic trance and lose all inhibitions with just a click of his fingers.
His shows are suited for young and old, and with no two volunteers being the same you can never really claim that you have seen his show before. You can expect a different reaction every time a new volunteer takes to the stage and even Andre admits that he is never too sure what will happen in his next performance.
He has presented his explosively funny hypnosis show at more than 4 500 live performances and hypnotized well over 30 000 people.
And with this Andre hurls the age-old art form of hypnosis kicking and screaming into the 21st century with supersonic hypnotic speed and outrageously funny modern day comical sketches.
Trained by the legendary Max Collie and having set attendance records at nearly all theatres in South Africa, Andre is yet to show signs of slowing down. With a new “spring in his step” he describes himself as being young, thin and funny. A mix of Barry Hilton’s wit, Nataniel’s flare and Steve Hofmeyer’s looks is how he describes himself and this before the curtain even opens.
Says Andre Grove; “I am looking forward to returning to Johannesburg; the city which gave birth to Andre The Hilarious Hypnotist twenty one years ago.”
Andre The Hilarious Hynotist will be performing at Montecasino Theatre from Friday 15th January – Sunday 14th February on Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 4pm and 8pm, Sundays at 3pm.
Tickets are R140 and can be booked through Computicket.
