Adored South-African actress, Christia Visser, ventures into music with her hard-hitting debut single 17 Shots.
Christia Visser is a fun-loving and passionate artist, born in Cape Town and raised in the small town of Swellendam. With her expressive personality, she wants nothing more than to entertain, whether it’s through acting, dancing, singing or writing. Christia is no stranger to the film world, she has starred in many national and international productions such as BBC’s Noughts and Crosses, the German film Superdad, as well Alison, the Alison Botha Hybrid documentary.
Christia also became one of the most recognisable actresses in Afrikaans film and television with lead roles in productions such as Balade vir ‘n Enkeling, Boekklub, Knapsekerels, Recce and Hollywood In My Huis – for which she won the Silwerskermfees award for best actress in 2014. Other accolades include; Durban International film festival Best Actress and a nomination for a SAFTA in 2016 for her role as ‘Tess’ in the brave ground-breaking film by the same name.
Christia has now ventured into the music industry with her debut single 17 Shots which aims to be one of the biggest songs in the Afrikaans music industry this year. The song is a hard-hitting alternative pop memoire showcasing her stand-out vocals and song-writing capability. The song is about life’s challenges, finding yourself amongst the chaos, and a personal message of hope that people will be able to relate to. The sound is current and fresh and will certainly stand out and make Christia even more adored by the Afrikaans community.
