Divas of 90’s dance, Crystal Waters, CeCe Peniston, Sybil and Robin S all achieved massive airplay with their cult dance hits during the 90’s. Crystal Waters ruled the charts with her massive hits “Gypsy Woman” and “100% Pure Love”, CeCe Peniston with “Finally” and “We Got a Love Thang”, Sybil with “Don’t Make Me Over” and “Walk On By” and Robin S with “Show Me Love” and “Luv 4 Luv”.
Crystal Waters (born October 10, 1964) in the USA. This house music singer and songwriter is best known for her 1990s dance hits “Gypsy Woman” and “100% Pure Love”. Crystal made an unexpected mainstream comeback in 1994 when the song “100% Pure Love” hit #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of the longest-charting singles. Along with the single, the singer released her second album Storyteller, which sold over 284,000 copies in United States.
On March 23, 2013—”Oh, Mama, Hey,” by Chris Cox & DJ Frankie featuring Crystal Waters, reached #1 on the US Billboard Dance/Club Charts after eight weeks.
CeCe Peniston (born Cecilia Veronica Peniston; September 6, 1969). A former American beauty queen and one of the most successful dance club artists in the history of the U.S. CeCe scored five number one hits within three years on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play. Her signature song “Finally” (#5 in the Hot 100 and #2 in UK Top 75) became one of the biggest dance singles, selling three million copies worldwide.
Sybil Lynch (born June 2, 1965 in Paterson, New Jersey), known simply as Sybil. She achieved worldwide crossover hits with her cover versions of Dionne Warwick’s hits “Don’t Make Me Over” and “Walk On By”, which were released in 1989 and 1990, respectively. The former became Sybil’s biggest hit in the USA, peaking at #20, and was a #1 hit in New Zealand. “Walk On By” is still, to date, the highest charting position for this Burt Bacharach/Hal David classic in the UK, peaking at #6.
Sybil’s second self-titled album became her biggest-selling album in the USA.
Robin Stone (born April 27, 1962), known professionally as Robin S. This American singer and songwriter scored success in the 1990s with such hit singles as “Show Me Love” (which was her debut single and a number-one hit) and “Luv 4 Luv”.
