A night of elegance, magic and wonder awaits…
Ma Diva Magic is a high end variety show with magic and cabaret taking centre stage at the Auto & General Theatre on the Square in Sandton from the 22nd to the 27th February 2016.
Featuring award-winning entertainers, Ms Irit Noble and Olwethu Dyantyi, Ma Diva Magic will take the audience back to a time before TV – where theatre ruled entertainment and where guests dressed up for the occasion! From the costumes, sound and lighting, you are guaranteed a night of elegance, magic and wonder!
Ms Noble adds a modern twist to the old cabaret genre as the hit favourites are woven into a show of wonder enhanced with truly mind blowing illusions by the “Glamipulator” himself, Olwethu Dyantyi.
“We hope to entertain you, and all we ask for is your attention and imagination – we will be take you away from this reality, these stressful times, and just for a little while, join us in the days of old, where mystery, music, colour, style, and of course a little bit of magic, are created for true entertainment!”
At only 23 years old, rising star, Olwethu Dyantyi, has already achieved so much. He studied magic for six years at the College of Magic in Cape Town and graduated in 2009. Hailing from Khayelitsha, Dyantyi has not only performed on stages in South Africa but he has also taken his passion and talent for magic and captivated audiences in the likes of Las Vegas, Italy, the UK and China. He was also one of the top six finalists in SA’s Got Talent in 2013. His most recent achievement, however, was taking top honours at the 2015 South African Magic Championships held in October, where he also clinched the coveted Grand Prix title for his performance results.
Comedy diva and cabaret queen, Ms Irit Noble, has everything you need in an entertainer – sass, style and a sultry singing voice. She has recently been recognised for her impressive work in the South African entertainment industry by winning the Mbokodo award for comedy. Her time in the spotlight has included hosting SABC 3’s Comedy Showcase, MC-ing at Madame Zingara, hosting on Cape Talk and 702 Talk Radio, performing at the Cape Town Carnival and the Smirnoff Comedy Festival to name a few.
All in all, Ma Diva Magic is a top quality and original South African show, ideal for the whole family, that everyone needs to see at least once – even if it is just to be reminded that deep inside we all enjoy (and need) a little bit of elegance and wonder.
Tickets cost R130 per person and are available on Strictly Tickets (www.strictlytickets.com) or at the theatre (011 883 8606). The shows run at 20h30 from the 22nd to the 26th and at 18h00 and 21h00 on the 27th February.
