Johannesburg 23 March 2026: Construction is officially underway on The View, a new upmarket lifestyle destination coming to Fourways. Positioned on a prime corner at the intersection of Cedar Road and Witkoppen Road, The View marks the next chapter in the Fourways Mall evolution.
The development forms part of the broader repositioning of Fourways Mall, aligned with the strategy set by JSE-listed REIT Accelerate Property Fund, as co-owner of the asset.
Responding directly to long-standing demand for high-end dining and lifestyle experiences in an accessible, beautifully considered setting, The View reflects this shift in approach. Once completed, the R100 million adjacency will further define the Fourways precinct, anchored by the mall.
Designed to take full advantage of its elevated position, The View will feature a rare outlook for Johannesburg, with a sweeping view across the Fourways landscape. This natural backdrop is shaping the sophisticated spirit of the development, creating a calm, refined environment that feels distinctly removed from the everyday retail rush, while remaining conveniently closely connected to Fourways Mall.
Convenience has guided every aspect of the planning. Multiple access points from Cedar Road, Witkoppen Road and Fourways Boulevard will ensure smooth arrival, while parking at each retail level will allow visitors to move effortlessly between car and destination. Clear wayfinding from within the mall, including a direct pedestrian route past the iStore, will make The View easy to reach on foot.

Security booms are being introduced to support a safe shopping experience, with one hour of free parking and free parking after 5 pm, encouraging relaxed, easy visits. Upgraded parking areas and enhanced landscaping, supported by a tree-planting initiative with Johannesburg City Parks, will add to the sense of a lush green, welcoming precinct.
A Considered Mix of Destination Brands
The View’s tenant line-up has been curated around lifestyle, leisure and quality, with a strong focus on destination dining, beauty and wellness. On the ground floor, The Pantry will open in September 2026, offering a full grocery experience with an in-store butchery, gourmet products, speciality wines, hot meals, a bespoke bakery and ice cream parlour. Joining it will be tashas, bringing Natasha Sideris’ much-loved all- day dining offering to Fourways for the first time. Fournos Bakery is set to open on 1 May 2026, adding its well-known bakery café experience, while Liquor Lane will complete the convenience layer with a premium liquor selection.
The lower floor will introduce spaces designed for longer, more social visits. A Clay Café will open in mid-2026, blending creativity, food and relaxed time together. This interactive offering will sit alongside Nonna’s Italian Grill, reinforcing The View’s position as a destination for unhurried dining.
On the upper level, established favourites will find a new home. Mangwanani Spa has already been trading since November 2025, relocating to The View, with Popsicle Nails and The Piercery adding beauty and personal style to the mix. Together, these brands will create an environment that works just as well for a quiet weekday visit as it does for sundowners with friends after a padel game.
Architecture Shaped by Place and People
The architectural vision for The View has been led by MDS Architecture, with a clear focus on flow, light and a strong sense of place. According to Pierre Lahaye, the brief was to move beyond a conventional retail strip and create a space that people want to spend time in.
“Our vision for The View is to transform a value centre retail space into a refined lifestyle destination that celebrates its extraordinary context,” he said. “Clean, contemporary lines and premium tactile materials will help create a calm, aspirational atmosphere, while a three-level atrium, conceived as a sophisticated hotel lobby, will anchor the space and draw people through it. This central volume will allow the restaurant precinct to unfold across multiple levels while opening up uninterrupted views over the nearby mountain range.”
From a development perspective, quality and longevity have been central to the approach. John Holley, Financial Director at Flanagan & Gerard, said,
“The View will play an important role in strengthening the wider Fourways Mall precinct. “The redevelopment of The View represents a key milestone in redefining the precinct as a cohesive, lifestyle-led destination.” “Its position at the corner of Cedar and Witkoppen Roads offers an unrivalled setting for a premium convenience centre. Our focus has been on introducing best-of-breed retailers that bring distinctive, experience-driven concepts to Fourways. The architectural quality was a priority because the environment matters. It shapes how people feel and how they spend their time.”

The View Welcomes Pantry and tashas
For tenants, the decision to invest has been closely tied to that sense of place, driven by a strong belief in the precinct’s evolving identity and long-term potential. Gary Kyriacou, co-founder of Marble Hospitality Group, said,
“The Pantry’s new store reflects confidence in the destination’s direction. Fourways represents energy, growth and community, and Pantry is built for exactly that. The quality of the space and the ease of access made this the right move for the brand, and we are proud to be part of what The View is becoming.”
“Fourways is an area we’ve long had our eye on. Now that we have found the right partner and location, we’re very excited to open our doors and become part of this vibrant community,” said Natasha Sideris, CEO & Founder of Tashas Group. “We can’t wait to bring our style of inspired hospitality to the area – beautiful food, a thoughtfully designed space, and warm, engaging service. Our hope is always the same: that we become part of the fabric of the neighbourhood in the way so many of our locations throughout South Africa have become over the years.”
As construction progresses through 2026, The View signals what lies ahead for Fourways Mall. A carefully shaped lifestyle destination that brings together design, dining and convenience, with views that are rarely found in the city.
