Stage and Screen has been a trusted voice in South Africa’s arts and entertainment landscape since 2006, covering theatre, film, television, live music and entertainment.
The platform was founded by Louw Mulder, sparked by a spontaneous idea during a live broadcast of Idols on kykNET. What began as a passion project soon grew into a respected entertainment platform, sharing news, interviews and features on productions, performers and creators.
Under Louw’s guidance, Stage and Screen built strong relationships within the entertainment industry and became an early supporter of popular local reality television, including Idols, Survivor and MasterChef South Africa. Over time, its coverage expanded from theatre and television to movies, live music and international productions.
Following Louw’s relocation abroad, Stage and Screen was taken over by a new team committed to building on the foundation he created and taking the platform into its next chapter.
Frederic Egersdorfer, founder of Harmony Media Group and an experienced digital media professional, manages the website’s content and administration, overseeing coverage of new productions, releases and entertainment news.
Today, Stage and Screen continues to celebrate South Africa’s vibrant entertainment industry while keeping readers connected to the people, productions and stories shaping their worlds.
