Umhlanga, 5 May 2025: Zoot n Scoot is back for its third instalment at Cornubia Mall in Umhlanga, with an early morning dose of energy, action and excitement planned for Saturday 10 May. The popular push-bike event will see young riders aged 3 to 12 take to the mall’s walkways for a lively race around the centre’s common areas.
Set to take place from 7:30 to 9:30 AM, Zoot n Scoot has become a much-anticipated fixture on the Cornubia calendar. The format remains simple and engaging: children ride their own bikes through the designated course, either solo or with some assistance from their parents. The event is held in a safe and contained area of the mall, making it an ideal outing for young participants and their supporters.
Riders, Ready Your Wheels
This year’s event includes three race categories: Mini Movers (ages 3 – 5), Speedy Sprinters (ages 6 – 8), and Trail Blazers (ages 9 – 12). A trophy will be awarded to the winner in each category, with additional prizes for the best decorated bike, the best dressed rider and the most enthusiastic participant. Entry is R85 per child and each entrant will receive a goodie bag filled with treats. Children must bring their own bikes and safety gear such as helmets and pads.
Early Starts and Big Cheers
With a start time of 7:30 AM, Cornubia Mall will be buzzing with supporters, family members and cheer squads ready to encourage the riders as they make their way through the course. The event is more than a race, it’s a chance for kids to take part in an active, social experience in a familiar environment.
